Hi there,
I joined the site a little while ago but now it's time to introduce myself.
Well, I am French music lover living in England (Berkshire) for over 13 years ... Almost British then. :)
I have bought my first real HiFi system when I arrived in UK and have since upgraded it to suit my taste while enjoying some harmony in my home :D
I think that I am almost there with some bits and bobs to change but nothing major.
My system:
Turntable: Garrard 401 serviced and modded by Classic-HiFi (CTC) re-painted Hammertone with upgraded Bearing ... The heavy oak plinth built by Russ Collinson.
Tonearm: Jelco SA-750D. I might want to try Shuggie's collar.
Cartridges: Decca SC4E rebuilt by ESCO with paratrace ... Well, this is a revelation which means that my Shelter 501 Mk2 is no longer used.
Phono Stage: Allnic H-1200 MM/MC ... Very good with both the Decca and the Shelter.
SUT: Bob's Device Sowter 1951: Nice but not currently used due to the Decca feeding the MM input and the quality of the trannis of the Allnic (for the Shelter)
Amp: Leben CS-300x. Fantastic sounding little amp. It is there to stay.
Speakers: Harbeth M30. No intro needed ... No need to change anything.
CD Player: EastSound CD-E5. Nice sounding and warm player but I tend to listen to LPs more.
Cables: This is an area for improvement mainly between Cart and Phono Stage.
I do enjoy all types of music but I do prefer female vocals, classical, jazz, the 80s.
Thanks for reading,
B.
