Got yet another rig in one of the other rooms, so I'm on the lookout for a pair of cheap quality monitors:

NAD 8225, Castle Trent, Mission 760i JPW P"x", Keesonic Kolts, or anything similar with real wood veneer.

Send me a PM if you anything spare in the yard :eyebrows:
Thanks!

I have some Rogers LS1's in the loft but they are black ash (vinyl I think)...

I have a very nice pair of Ruark Epilogues in cherry - not used them for yonks - boxed up in the loft.

None of these are good enough to be fairly called "Monitors" IMO...

May I suggest a trip to a local? pro music store. You can buy some really good little actives for well under three hundred Euro's including dedicated amps and some eq as well (tweeter level etc...). Not second-hand domestic prices, but far better potential in sonics.

Hi, might look into it but I'm more keen to models with some history behind them.

Already have some ushers, jbl l112, castles etc. To be fully honest I enjoy testing and dealing with 2nd hand stuff and ocasionally get gobsmacked with some scruby stuff. Cheers

Edit: I might be confusing the terms, since english is not my native language, perhaps stand mounters is more accurate? ;)

Have a look out for some re-coned JPW's.

I have a pair of AP3's - just bought some Klipsch Heresy 3's but can't bare to sell the AP3's (I've given them to my son rather than sell them) - they are quite superb!

Very detailed with great bass and look good in the real wood veneers.

Audioorigami rates them highly and Puresound reckon they can't be beat for under £800.

If you're lucky you can find re-conditioned ones for about £100 - bonkers value for money imho:eek:

Yeah been looking for them for some time now, reckon even the p1/p2 might be of interest, let's if something shows up.

Thanks for the advice, cheers

Still looking, mostly for any of the above mentioned models.
