You know, i have a sneaky respect for the later SBL. The passive crossover was in my view, either under-developed, or at least hobbled with cheapo electrolytic caps, but the later speaker worked well with any GOOD powerful amp and in active form could be really rather sneakily good, the tendancy to hash and splatter of the older model in passive form all but banished......
