it also hears differently.
The left ear has a notably more bass leaning while my right seems more attuned to higher frequencies.
I didn't realise until I played a mono Kinks 'village green 're issue LP.
on headphones. No difference volume wise and it doesn't spoilt my music.
Anyone else experience this or should I go have surgery immediately ??

oops....wrong place this methinks sorry.
Put headphones on opposite ears just incase.
Maybe your eletrolytics need replacing?
Seriously though, I have a similar problem although my issue is pitch related. The hearing in my right ear is about a quarter of a tone lower than in my left which can sometimes cause problems with certain instruments, particularly piano.
My electrolytics blew up years ago :( Another bloody cloged and swollen ear infection, which has left loads of debris in the affected ear. headphone listening is unbearable and it's only just clearing. I spent days thinking the system was faulty until I reversed the 'phones on my head - the system's as fine as it ever will be and it's me at fault yet again :(
I have a problem with wax build up in my right ear. Even when it is clear I cannot hear as much HF as I can with my left ear. I have them cleaned out once a year, sorry.....WHAT......SPEAK UP.......ohhhh!!!!

I have my ears checked for wax annualy at work and they are clear.
Maybe lots of people have this hearing peculiarity ?
You only have to listen covering one ear at a time to notice it. Especially with th TV for some reason it's very noticeable .
Maybe interesting to see how many peeps here have the same .
Where it is most apparent for me is when I'm listening to the dial tone on a phone, if I swap ears the difference in pitch is very noticeable :eyebrows:

If you have a high level of facial symmetry you are more likely to have symmetry of the senses as well. So good 'looking people' not only get to be good looking they also generally tend to have better sight and hearing.
So that's me screwed on all counts.
My right ear has always worked better than my left,it also tends to get more wax in it.My nurse has now refused to seringe it ,she says i should just put some olive oil in it for a few nights a week.
Blow me, she was right a great big lump of wax just fell out this morning.
Thanks to olive oil everything sounds better today.
Hope you weren't eating your tea when you read this.......

I don't think that can be true 'cos both my hearing and my sight in one eye tend to be well below par    .

The plot thickens ..... Just tried the phone thing. Bloody hell !! It could be two different phones !
Now try this ( that's not an order obviously, just a suggestion )
get a book or mag. Shut one eye , then alternate. It's my eyes as well !!!!
My right eye sees more yellowy than my left.
I'm amazed I can walk in a straight line now.
Apart from one ear sticking out more though I am incredibly good looking so I'm not sure about your ugly theory Simon......

At this rate the sweet spot will be the kitchen !
Just had a shower and I'm sure my left leg's longer than my right....
Go jogging and see if you naturally do a circle.
Go jogging and see if you naturally do a circle.
That only happens if one arm is longer than the other as it catches the wind more.
One of my testicles is bigger than t'other, I'm sure it's affecting my balance... :eyebrows:

No, that's what's affecting your hearing - it's pulling the skin down on that side and blocking off your ear'ole.

My eyesight is so bad I can't see this at all without my 'computer' glasses and I have the aforementioned colour sensivity imbalance and only about 30% hearing, with no HF discrimination in my right ear.
Fortunately, so far, the rest of me is generally in fighting fit shape. I can still lift heavy stuff, run after the dog, walk miles, and do naughty things with women.
Not too bad I suppose for a fairly lazy bloke who's nearer seventy than fifty and still smokes.
