The list of audio abbreviations is exactly that; I don't regard acronyms such as IMO, AFATK, LOL, SVPP, PMP or FFS etc. to be part of that list. :rolleyes:

Like many others, sometimes I don't know the meaning of these acronyms - so I look them up.

I see no point in re-inventing the wheel, so suggest the link quoted is made into a "sticky". Those acronyms that are not in this list can be added later.

The list I compiled for The Knowledge is purely audio abbreviations, and I would prefer to leave it as such.

PMP = Personal Music Player, was not included as most such devices are of indefferent audio quality, and therefore not of interest to members. However I will add it to the List.

PMPO, is not an officially recognised audio acronym, for the reasons you rightly state: "music power" is an ill-defined specification, designed to mislead. Again, it has no real place in the List, apart from pointing out the confusion caused by this term.



Rather than 'drip feeding' errors and omissions, perhaps someone might like to go through the complete list and point out any E&O's.
