As some people claimed that I am strange guy who tends to post some ugly pictures around ,

This is a one for you Marco !. Its not autocadded ,not photoshopped either,
its real , means exists , sounds wonderful and..., well it's heavy - 60 kilos,
but who ask operatic Divas about weight ? Would you dare ?

There's things going on there that are either clever and work well (patent applied for ?) or are a "brave decision"
One thing always puzzles me, why do expensive TT's use o-rings to drive them? Surely in the 21s t centuty we can think of something better, I mean the systemdek costs £27k and it uses an o-ring to drive it?
The picture is nice, probably costs more than a small car but it still is driven by 2 o-rings!
For those who do not know an o-ring is made from nitrile rubber normally and is a round belt. Costs pence.

There were some brave decisions taken on the initial design stage, but then
the only those had been kept which passed the quality tests, and these had
been patented. As you already said the sound is what really counts in what
we both -me and Mr. Zontek himself believe same strong as you do. You are
close to me enough to pop up one day and listen to it. I will let you know it,
when my deck will be with me ready to pleasure people eyes and ears ; ]

Well ,£27k is a lot , almost 5 times more than Zontek cost is.
Anyway Dave ,I can 't answer your question for sure,but the
reason in my opinion is because they work so good regarding
the price. And if they are cheap to replace if necessary it's
alright too, isn't it. Would you like your turntable belt would
cost the price of the small car ? Even driven by solar panel ?
I wouldn't. And of course it's not the belt ,string, silicon or
you name it what makes TT final price. Same like with power
cord - it is not particularly quality and the cost of the wire.

Lol... I have to be honest and say that, aesthetically, it's a dog's dinner (too many contrasting types of materials and colours), although I suspect that it will sound good, as it seems very well engineered.
I like the arm best! Is it available separately, and if so, for how much? And does it also come in a 9" version? :)

It is called DELTA.
Designed to meet and fulfil the very highest market demands. It is a unique 14.5 inch arm and is made completely by hand by the designer himself. Only the very best materials are employed: rare, selected Black Ebony and Bronze for metal parts which is then 24 carat gold coated (on demand it could be rhodium and silver). Manufacture of the tone-arm is a precise, artisan job which takes 6 weeks to complete. The wand is made of solid ebony, which is conically shaped to help stiffness and the best possible weight distribution.

Like the platter, it employees a one-sided magnetic suspension system, which does not cause any resistance and allows a liquid smooth and super precise control for anti-skate. For ultra precise cartridge matching, for our most demanding customers we additionally adjust the arm’s efficient mass by increasing mass with specially engineered add on weights which are carefully selected, shaped and located, depending on particular system chosen.

And yes ,it can be bought separately. The price is £ 3.000 for standard
SME wired (copper) version ,or can be build to the customer order with
any cable choice which on that occasion have to be supplied.
Regarding lenght: Two 12 inchers had been build to the order ,so I know for sure it is possible,
but about 9" I have to ask. Can't see any reason why NOT ,but let me find out and give you
a proper answer to be 100% sure we not going to misslead anyone who read this thread ;)

Solid ebony wand, eh? I've always suspected that solid ebony would be a great material for an arm-tube, ever since I heard the phenomenal sonic effect using it had with the bespoke ebony armboard Speedy Steve made for my Techy... ;)
I bet that the resonance properties of ebony are pretty ideal - certainly better, IMO, than the magnesium used on SME arms!
If it's a bespoke-made item, I presume that it could be ordered in various lengths? If so, could you do me a favour and find out how much a 9" version would be? I may consider it for another T/T project I'll be embarking on next year :cool:

I will find it out for you Marco , however I do not think so that making wand
shorter will cut the price by much as ,it does not change amount of work
involved in a build itself. Also ,this lenght had been chosen for its perfect
tracking abillities, so shortening it you trading off the best . It is not worth
in my opinion, you better think about how to adopt it to your next project.
Regarding your mixed feelings about colours / textures mix.Think about the
deck as about an example ,as job quality will remain the same,but metal or
wood finish can be bespoken, and almost all available technologies can be
used ,like brushing ,anodizing,coating ,etc. To give you an example plinth
and all deck can be perfectly ,black or silver ,matt or glossy ,up to your
taste really. I wanted to add that to the bill as it is worth to mention ; )
As soon as I have another finish available I will make some good pictures
and post them for further consideration for those who are not familiar to.
Have a couple of more pictures to enjoy then. I appreciate your post a lot.

This is slightly disappointing after that CD player! But still a brave post in a direct drive forum. The arm does look very promising.

AoS is not a "direct drive forum". Yes, the Techy is very popular, but as you'll see from reading the rest of Analogue Art, outside of The Techiepedia, we like many other types of T/Ts, too! ;)

I discussed this matter with DELTA designer.
He said that building 9" does not have any sense ,price would be the same
when lost of performance quality quite significant. Have to say that sounds
reasonable to me. He offered to help with adopting tonearm to work with you
choice of deck and build interface to make it happen, if all necessary data or
deck will be supplied to him without any charge to proof his rights. I think
the best will be when you just pop up to my place when them arrive and
give them a listen. Till that I should have purchased Dr. Feickert's Adjust+
soft with me and being well familiar with to make the set up best possible.
By the way if you after TD 124 deck I have solid cherry plinth left here
with me after I sold my drive and 9 and 12 inch boards made of the same
material. If you need something to start with and taste for light woods,
pm me please , of course if this gossip matches facts ;)
Some latest news from the show regarding Zontek TT and accompanying electronics it had been presented with

Got news from Zontek ,that Deck is almost finished and the Delta Tonearm is already build for me , so be prepared for January Turntable bake - off ;) !!!

any time I bought one build back it sold straight on , so I had to stop it
other way I can not keep working on the brand establishment like that.
For this reason this demo unit is a keeper and more of that it will be soon
presented to audience for the very first time during an event in Midlands.
