Have a look on eBay I just bought one for eight quid made from acrylic. The quality is excellent.

First is 7mm.
Hopefully can get the acyrlic one cheap.

good luck ;) Dont forget you can alter the vertical height of your SME arm to give you a few extra mm's.

Using fidelity reseach arm and it's at full height on the 301.
