The Hifi merry go round that is!

Unknowingly, and after having said no more swapping stuff, what I have now wont be changed for a long time, I've just taken a look back at what has come about!

So far this year I've had a new Bushmaster dac, Atratus ic's, TQ Blue speaker cable, soon replaced by TQ Black, a PSU improver device, and the biggest addition, literally, Usher CP 6371 speakers.

Hmmmmm, better not anymore rash promises to myself!

Truth is the side cheeks are the most gorgeous natural light wood, but as it upsets the monochrome aspect of the room, she doesn't like them!

BIG big clue there too! :)

You definitely mean Acoustic Solutions?

I googled it but it just brought up all the really low end stuff.

Apart from that, did you actually mean to post in this thread, which is certainly not about small standmounters! :eyebrows:

No, I might get around to it, more likely sand than shot, but its a two man job to move each cab now, God knows what extra weight that would add!:uhho:

Yes it is friend.....tip away!

Only prob I would get is not being able to shift them!
I've already removed the cones and put some sorbothane similar stuff under the iron plinths, and it takes a lot of effort to move them!

By the way, before the Ushers were bought, I was considering SF Luito's and matching stands.

Do you reckon I made the right (hobsons) choice?

isuckedmandelsonslemons
03-12-2012, 09:14
When you take off the cavity covers put the screws back in. This prevents sand getting into the screw threads. I used a large funnel to fill and got my son to hold the speakers.

I think you know you made the right choice. I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Ushers.

Thanks for the tip Harry, and I believe I made the right choice too, as you say, I've never seen a bad review or heard anyone say negative stuff about them, I admit I've hankered over SF's, but I read one review that made me think twice about the Luito's.

The wife still says the side cheeks are the colour of diarrhoea!

Yes,king post was about 5 metres tall.
2 x 8m length steels under the floor 4 metres apart tied together with 9x2 joists and a goalpost style shape using the kingpost cut down to restrengthen.

I had to chuckle yesterday. I needed to move the boxes my BE10s came in. Took two of us to lift the boxes . . . empty apart from packaging. Looking forward to having to carry four big Usher floorstanders up three flights of stairs to the new loft room.
