WHAT? No eSATA :eek:

Well that's a bummer, I may well have upgraded at some stage :doh:

The 4K scaling may well have come in handy if I could get a Sony 4K projector at the right price, but a lack of eSATA for streaming is just bad news :(

Reading a few comments online it looks like some people caused damage by hot plugging an eSATA drive so maybe that why it has been removed from this model.

For streaming most people use a NAS drives and stream over the network rather than directly plugged in as it is easier to add content to the disk if it is on the network.

The Asynchronous USB DAC input is excellent if anyone has a streaming computer etc.
Also a very good headphone amplifier and high quality digital volume control to use as a digital pre amp connected directly to power amps or active speakers, all for less than a thousand English pounds.

Well they are daft for not reading the instructions ;)

I did try plugging the HDD into one of the USB sockets, but the Oppo 95 wouldn't recognise the drive.

Yes, looks like it'd be another big investment in a NAS.

Shame really, as I may well have been tempted if I could keep the HDD as it is, instead of having to find another few hundred pounds or more for a NAS :rolleyes:
