I'am an audio/music interested 51 year old person with four and a half girls from two ex.'s.

I have engineered my own 50kg electromagnet woofers, compression drivers and horns.
Also I made my own idler wheel turntable with a 30kg stainless steel platter and the motor from a revox B77.
The amps are a Berning Siegfreid and some Gamut M200 for the subs.
Tonearm is a Kuzma 4point with a Mayajima Kansui and a Silvercore "big" silver step up.
The preamp is an old Krell KRS.

I do not listen to almost all pop and most rock.

Hi Erik, welcome to AoS. Both your speakers and turntable sound very interesting - can we have some pictures please?

Hi Erik,
Welcome to The Art of Sound.
Your system sounds very interesting, and as mentioned above, it would be great to see some photos in The Gallery (http://theartofsound.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14). Maybe some other DIY'ers could be interested in the processes you used to make some of your gear - I know I would - & I barely know which end of a screwdriver to hold! This type of thread is to be found here in The Drawing Board (http://theartofsound.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20)
Funnily enough, we have another member who has made some rather remarkable equipment - he's called Erik too, but comes from the Netherlands - here's a fantastic thread (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11349) about the stuff he's built.

Welcome once again.
Cheers

Thanks for the interest, but I have not made pictures of my stuff, I have not felt the need for that since I look and listen at it every day.
Maybe I can make some during the weekend and post them.

The electromagnets was designed and optimised by me with the intensive use of the finite elements program FEMM.

The manufacture was made by Wolf Von Langa who has the access to the difficult to obtain 99.99% pure iron that is needed for top performance and the required manufacturing facilities with hydrogen anealing and precission machining.
At 100W fieldcoil dissipation I have 2.3 Tesla +/- 0.5% in a height of 10mm in the magnet gap.

Some simmulation results and a picture of a unfinnished mid woofer magnet can be found at his site here:

This is very interesting as I have many times planned that my "last" speakers might be 604 duplex fieldcoil drivers by Wolf Von Langa. Have never contacted him but still this is rather intriguing thought.. ;)
