Calling all Michell TT owners (Orbe, gyrodec, technodec etc) would anyone be able to tell me the length of the drive belt and also the distance from spindle to centre of motor. I need a belt for a TT build project and think this might do the job but just need to check length and distance.

Many thanks

Chris, can you help with this? :)

Marco.

Yes, I most certainly can help here, as I have a brand new & unstretched Michell belt in my bits box. I'd intended to reply to this last night, but you know how stuff gets in the way.

I make the belt 460mm, so to confirm how this was measured, that would be 1/2 of the circumference, give or take a small amount for the bends.

Distance between the centre of the motor pulley to the centre of the platter spindle is 208mm - a good old fashioned 8" - I suspect John M had an inch ruler when he set these parameters!

Thanks Chris, Had an answer from Adam (Beobloke) Yesterday he confirms the belt length same as you but he measured the spindle to pully at 218mm, not 208. 10mm makes a huge difference in my plans anyway so its not a big deal.

Thanks for the details very helpful.

Just measured mine (Gyro SE) which is also 208mm.

Thanks Paul, good of you to confirm it.
