Just re-introduced myself to these. I remember listening to them in the 80's on cassette.

Bloody ell... How it sounds now NOT through a cheapo Crown midi system... Some great atmospheric stuff going on.

Yeah... the Crown I had was one of the real cheapo's. And it chewed tapes like no tomorrow... lol

Followed by a Binatone... not much better! In fact probably worse.

If you do not have this already then it's worth finding for the liner notes alone - a guy that really knows his stuff.
No loudness wars here - he explains how far they have gone to get it as good as is possible. Where original tapes are missing it is pointed out and the source explained - usually vinyl.
It also contains for the first time on an album my all time favourite AON track - Moments In Love, not one but various versions of it.

Then there is this album - defies the fact of when it was produced - and what production it has - still sota today.
Goes for silly money now unfortunately :(

Coincidentally I played Daft yesterday - well worth it, on SACD if you can find it for not silly money. Basically an amalgamation of "(Who's Afraid Of) The Art Of Noise" and "Into Battle With" (their debut EP) and includes my favourite remix of MIL - "(Three Fingers Of) Love".
