Routers and your deck

I recently moved my router away from the room next door to my listening room. It now resides right at the other end of t he house. I had a listening session last night and I swear to god the deck (a alphason solo) sounded infinitely better. How could this be:scratch: or is it my imagination :scratch: if this is the case I wonder how my 1210 will sound????

Why the surprise?
Two things with routers ( I take it we are talking computers and not the things that spin at 26,000 rpm :) )

One - they chuck out by design a lot of RFI - WiFi & Bluetooth. This can have a dramatic effect on high res systems, dependant on shielding etc.

Two - switch mode power supplies. Unless well made and designed these pollute the mains very badly.

I'm certain there will be more reasons - but that's my $2c

Yep your thoughts match my own but it's always good to throw some ideas out there and see what you get. Further improvements should be had then as my latest batch of ic's that I'm having made have lots of rfi /Emi protection :)
