Since discovering the difference a step up transformer can make, I've now bought another, so this is for sale.
These seem to be pretty hard to come by, but also quite highly regarded. In my system they certainly offer a noticeable improvement over my EAR 834P's internal step up transformers, the treble is far more refined and there just seems to be more space between instruments. They are mounted in a piece of Oak and internals are lined with copper sheet which is connected to a drain wire keeping everything hum free. Step up ratio is 1:12 so they'll provide adequate gain for most Low Output cartridges, more info available here
