It is whats left of my grandmothers pedal machine, and is very heavy and stable. The floor in the room is concrete BTW. I have been very active in another forum, but decided to take a break and venture into some new forums and meet some new folks and gain a different perspective if possible. Since following the threads here for a few months I like the feel of the place, Thanks for having me.

It looks like a Singer sewing machine base. Growing up in London in the 60s my mother had one with a treadle underneath which you used with your feet to get the needle and bobbin mechanism to go up and down and make the stiches.

My sister and me used to take turns to see how fast we could get the thing spinning before mum would bash us around the head with a rolling pin!:eek::eek:

It is a very fast and open system, that will play any type of music with ease. Of course with that much headroom (900 watts RMS per panel) one would expect it. The subs kick in at 43hz so most of the bass load is carried by the panels, but you still feel the lower octaves. :)

The Audio Research LS15 Tube preamp is a great match with the SS Acurus A200 amps. IMHO

I imagine lots of effortless scale: my subs also come in quite low down about 55 in my case but also use a big slope 18db which allows me to have a bit more punch

As a Megneplanar user myself a few years ago, are your speakers not placed the wrong way round ? Should the tweeters on the Maggies be on the inside and not facing outside as like your photograph ?

I tried them both ways and preferred the ribbons out. Wider Deeper Soundstage.
