As you lot are a more friendly bunch i was wondering if i could ask for you help.

Here's the question

I am doing a deal with stewart (stewartwen) with swaping my IAS Cadnams for a smaller pair of Ashursts. The problem is we're 200 miles apart. What we need is any one willing between St annes (lancashire) and bournemouth to possibly courier one pair down to bournemouth and take my cadnams up to stewart. If anyone can help please PM me or stewart. The cadnams will fit in a medium size car and a quite large

Also, if someone lives half way between the two of you and drives to yours (to pick up your speakers), then to your friends (to deliver them and pick up his), then back to yours (to deliver his speakers to you) and finally back to their own home, they will have driven 600 miles!

Yeah we know this is an issue. Just gonna be very tricky and a VERY big ask for someone. i dont know any other hi-fi mates outside AOS or the WAM

If one of you did it it would only be a 400 miles round trip! Actualy check your mileages I'm sure it's more than 200 miles. :)

It's 294 miles which is 5hrs 19mins and assumes you use the Birmingham M6 Toll which is extra cost on top of the fuel. :eek: Thought of using a courier?

This sort of thing has been suggested before. Tricky with something as big as this, but in theory a chain of people could pass stuff from one to another to get items to their destinations.
The biggest part of the journey is up the M5/M6. Doesn't anyone do that trip on a fairly regular basis?

The most direct route does not involve M5. It's M6/M42/M40/A34/M3/M27.

theory is easy chris , and a lot easier if you know the people involved , i mean hey interwebby person can you take my £10,000 amp for a week or so and maybe drop it off sometime to so and so , its down to trust of course , i have many many times done this on the wam , but as you know i am better known over there , but the offer is an open one here as it is on the wam , if i can help i will , do regular trips to scotland and the midlands , so any one who needs a hand , simply extend it

OK, understood. Sorry, I obviously don't know Dorset so well.
But there are potentially as many variations to the route as there are members of AoS -it doesn't need to go the most direct route - surely that's the point.

Update From Stewart:

As most of you know Dantheman and I are swapping his Cadnams for my Ashursts. He asked for someone to help with the transport. Well Tref (Huntergatherer) will take the Ashursts down to him and collect the Cadnams. But I still need someone to get the Ashurst down to Tref, he lives in Welwyn. I live in St Annes on Sea.
The cabinets are aprox 2 cubic feet each and will fit in any car. So if you can help I will be very grateful.
