My new Pioneers...

Remember me telling you that I was on the hunt for Pioneer kit again, well I've built my new system and for less than £100.

So here they are:

Pioneer A405 amp
Pioneer PD-S703 CDP

I must add my old Pioneer PD104 sounded a bit weak hooked upto the 405, the PD-S703 sounds fantastic.

So I'm happy with my system again now!

Maybe next year Ill buy some new speakers but the old AIWA's dont sound bad at all.

I have no idea about the amp, but that Pioneer stable platter cdp certainly gets a :thumbsup: from me!

Yeah I had seen those and it did get me looking on ebay at Pioneer speakers.

The amp is as good as the A400 is my opinion, but there are 2 versions of the 405.... Theres the one I have and the one with 'all dials' on the front. The one with all the dials on the front has a slightly better phono stage and is rated at 50W into 8 ohms and has optical interfaces, the one I have is rated at 105Watts a channel into 8ohms.

I won the CDP for £30 (£15 P&P).

Amp cost me £45 (£15 P&P).

Not a bad deal.

You have one unit with the new Pioneer logo and one with the old. I prefer the old logo meself - don't know why they changed it. Sony have never bothered.
