Does anyone know where I could get such a thing small enough to fit and squeeze the leads on ?

Snipe nosed pliers to position, and a large jeweller's screwdriver to press the connector sleeves home.

I'm with the wifes pube picking tweezers...I think she uses em on eye brows as well.....in fact she probably only actually uses them for eye brows....I'm just that way out today sorry.
So. It's ladies tweezers . Work a treat. I've tried pin nosed pliers , forceps etc , but with simple tweezers you get a more natural feeling of how much pressure your using. Sorry to differ waz but personally I think in any other than expert hands locking forceps could be disastrous on delicate cart wires .
Those thing exert hellish pressure.

Also known as Spencer Wells clamps, we use them at work, and l would not use these to fit some headshells wires if they lock up:doh::steam:- can also be used as very efficent torture devices:)

The fact that they lock is precisely why I use them. You can grip the tail end of the clip, lock them and then you have one less thing to worry about.

The 10 inch forceps looked good value but frightened the life out of me
I guess what is needed needs to be small and easy to use for sure :)

Smaller sets than the ones I linked to are available. For example (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rolson-59127-90mm-Curved-Forceps/dp/B0080R1JXW/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1351600492&sr=8-15)

Hi Chris, Now they look like they can be handled easily and get into those tight spots. The thought of the big forceps around my exotic headshell leads and 2M Black cartridge gave me a serious cold sweat  A bit of a AK47 to kill da fly type thing
