Hurricane Sandy - Landfall

Please spare a thought for the millions of people affected by this huge storm which is predicted to make landfall south of Atlantic City on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States in just an hour or so. The effects are being felt as far north as Boston, Massachusetts and way down south as far as Newport News, Virginia on Chesapeake Bay...

I was watching it on the news just now. That crane on the partially completed building doesn't look good. Must be lots of very frightened people over there right now. Thinking of them.

And let's not forget the tens of millions affected by similar and more powerful storms on a regular basis in India and the surrounding countries - people who live in a country not deemed important enough to be reported in the western media.

Thousands die each year there, mainly because of the limit of wealth available to preserve life during such storms.

Initial reports from family and friends in NYC and surrounding states is encouraging. There has been some property damage; however, no injuries or loss of life for us. Still, from the pictures that I've been sent... things are FUBAR in a lot of places.

As an aside: Western Media isn't giving you everything on Sandy just like it didn't give anyone the truth on Katrina or Occupy Wall Street. Western Media has no love for it's "own", either. The internet is about the only place you can get close to the real story... ...before they take the vidz down... or freeze the view counts.
