MCRU New Design Mains Lead

I have recently been working on a new design mains power lead to accompany my Ultimate (which works best on power amps and conditioners like the PS Audio PPP, P10, IsoTek Titan, Sigmas etc), this new design needed to be more flexible than the ultimate and capable of delivering the sonic goods with everything from phono stages to top end blu ray players, following trials by a team of selected audiophiles both here and abroad this new design has been proclaimed a winner by all who have used it.

It will be officially launched in November, a sneak preview of the model I have been testing is below, amongst the UK audiophiles I sent one to was our very own Martin T, if Martin wants to comment on the cable I will leave him to describe it himself, it is very similar to my No.9 in make up, I personally use schuko plugs in my system and the option will be offered to any customer who wants to purchase the new design of mains lead, UK, Schuko, Australian and USA mains plugs will be available, my version has the new IsoTek gold plated copper connectors on as I have been testing those also! Price wise the new mains lead will sell for less than £500 and comes with a 30 day money back guarantee as does everything I sell.

I can't write much at the moment but I can say that I've had it on test powering my Ayre SACD player for the last four days, in place of the No. 9. It took a couple of days to burn-in and let me understand what it's doing. It is at least as good as the No. 9 in all parameters and better in a couple: the sense of space, acoustic of the venue or room, is even better formed and quite startling with some music, and the rendering of dynamics is completely unrestrained.

One of my favourite tests are the two central movements 'In The Store' and 'Fears' from Shostakovich's Symphony No. 13 conducted by Haitink with the Concergebouw on Decca. This recording of the overwhelmingly stark and terrifying music is full of space, very low level choral singing and solo instruments picked out from the almost dead silence, interspersed with simply staggering crescendos. The dynamic range is enormous and the bass drum creates waves around the room. The way the acoustic of this performance is rendered using the new cable is phenomenal. Quite the best CD reproduction I've yet heard.

I think the above gives an idea, as best I can impart, of what this cable does over and above the already excellent No. 9.

I guess the burning question, David, is what are you going to call it? Do you have some kind of tombola full of numbered balls that you use for your cable naming system? ;)

Yes. The burn in.
The Ultimate was good to start with. It has become better and better as it burned in. <finger in the air> I'd say 2 weeks for optimum performance, but unless it's my imagination it seems to get even better

Both my original No. 9s and the No. 92 still seem to be burning-in ever so slightly, displaying further improvements in palpable soundstage and the sense of being in the acoustic of the recording. Very impressive cables and I am well pleased.
