SME 3012 counter weight help needed

Just another quick question.

I'll be strapping an 11g Koetsu black to the 3012.

Will I need the medium or large counter weight?

The counterbalance weight of the 3012 weighs 169.8g and the arm can counterbalance cartridge/headshell masses in the range 4 - 18g. Your Koetsu (you dont say which model it is) weighs 11g which lies in the centre of the range and where the arm has an effective mass of 14g.

The total mass is thus 25g and with a compliance of ~ 10cu (the quoted value is 5cu, but the Japanese tend to quote values measured at 100Hz. The value at 10Hz will be 1.5 to 2 x the quoted value), the calculated resonant frequency will be 10.1Hz, which is ideal.
