Can anyone remember Voyce amps? I haven't seen or heard of them for years. Does anyone know anything about them?:)

Were they 'Voyce' ?

and were they in wooden casework, supposedly made by an ex-Naim employee ?

Yes. You are right and i am wrong. That describes them perfectly. They were always something i would have liked to have listened to.

Back in the mists of time we tried a pre and power but weren't sufficiently impressed with the sound and even less so with the build which was a bit kitchen table. I guess that others felt the same because they didn't take off.

Hi,

It was Audio Vois. I do remember them. Around 83/84/85 ish?

I remmber it had some good reviews but did look homemade.

The engineer concerned was good early on at Naim, but I believe he got too big for them (in a positive way), started taking a little liberty in the setting up (judging by what he did to my mate's three bolt-up 250's sent back for thermal checking - the usual drift in voltages inside -) and needed to strike out on his own. This was early 1980 I think (the CB range had just been inflicted on us). Audio Vois was all but ignored by the vociferous (sorry, couldn't help it) Naim/Linn crowd as usual and I don't think they lasted long.

It was just too home made for comfort..
