Headphone Shinanigans

Anyone ever tried using open-back headphones with speakers playing at the same time? I used to now and again in the late '70s and early '80s with my Pioneer amp Castle Richmonds and Sennheiser 424s. It seemed neat at the time.

It didn't sound awful.

You got a sort-of extended-out-of-the-head-type-effect.

Granted, it did fall apart if you walked about.
