hi all anyone have any thoughts on b&w matrix 2 series 2 speakers or anyone own them i have a pair and would like to hear what people think of them cheers

I've never heard a bad B&W loudspeaker. Which is unusual as most manufacturers seem to have produced at least one duffer in their history. They don't seem too popular with most of the AoS community, though. :scratch:

Not bad,had a pair once,but changed them for a pair of DM2s...are they the original stands?

I didn't rate the old DM4 much. The DM2 and even the little D5 of the same era were far better speakers.

Like KEF, B&W went through a stage of measurement and fancy technology taking over from actual listening tests. The early Matrix models did seem to be a good step in the right direction before the styling and marketing people once again got involved.

I think you have to take each model on its own merits though. SOME B&W's are really good, but others (600 V3, N801 and most CM's spring to mind) can be horrible on music.

Thanks for that, have never got to grips with uploading pics. As for the speakers they are very good in the midrange and bass and give a slightly forword presentation from the tweeter, all in all a good tight sound.
