My Source didn't need restoration, but it was certainly looking a little tired.

Inspired by Hi-Fi Dave's efforts with his Source, I set to work ...

The plinth has been rejuvenated with beeswax polish, the platter has had the full Brasso treatment and the lid has been treated to some plastic polish.

The results are most satisfying! :)

And yes, I would love to get rid of the nasty old Target rack but needs must right now ...

Why get rid of your target rack, it looks cool and does the job of being a hifi rack. I'd certainly keep it. ;)

I guess the rack is ok but it reminds me of "What Hifi" from the 1980's which can't be a good thing

That top plate still needs some love!

Which arm is that, Zeta or Kuzma?

Looks good.
How come no finger lift on the headshell?

You are absolutely right - my last job on the deck is to clean the top plate with meths ...

The arm is a Kuzma Stogi.

Well, when I bought the arm I couldn't find the finger lift in the box, but the dealer said it was definitely sent - anyway, he agreed to order it from Kuzma but nothing ever turned up ... I've never chased it and I've actually got used to operating it without the finger lift now; and for optimum sound quality Kuzma recommend leaving it off anyway

It isn't my deck, it's one I had in to fit a cartridge. I did that and gave it a clean and polish whilst I was at it. Unfortunately, the arm vertical bearing is sticky/damaged and needs to be repaired by the manufacturer but at least the deck is sparkling now.

Looks fab!

One day I'm going to make a concerted effort to find a nice Source to bolt to the underside of my Odyssey arm.

So many turntables, so little time...

Cheers Adam - good luck finding one - at one point I thought Lord Lucan was more likely to turn up!!

Fantastic pics, Julian, of a beautiful looking T/T, and well done on the polishing! I've tidied up your images by removing some of the unnecessary IMG links, etc, so that your gallery thread looks nice and clean :)

Thanks Marco, most kind, that looks much better :)

Next time I will find a way to do the editing, so you don't have to!
