I just picked up a little known 1977 Lafayette T-6000 direct drive turntable.
It comes stock with a Jelco SA-200 tonearm and Shure M91ED cartridge.
It is in excellent condition and everything is intact including the dust cover and hinges.
Does anyone know much about this Japanese made turntable?

I'm fairly sure Lafayette were an American company who marketed Japanese electronics under their own brand name in the sixties and seventies. A bit like Marantz and Harman Kardon.
I have a 1971 G W Smith catalogue which lists quite a bit of Lafayette gear.

I have a Lafayette 'LA750' amp, it's great.
There was a lafayette amp on ebay last month.
In the description it said "rebadged luxman "

Ahh Lafayette - I was trying to find more info about it when I was searching for some good vintage FM receivers. Here is some info:

Various companies were producing stuff for 'em - Luxman, Trio - who else? No idea. This turntable looks beautiful by the way!
In fact - is it not the same TT as this Bose?

There was a discussion somewhere and consensus was that those were made by Sansui.

It looks exactly like the Bose in everyway.
Here is another rebadged T-6000 turntable in a video.

I really like his speakers too.
Those speakers are gorgeous, what are they?
