Seeing Felix fail to get the two freefall records really brings into focus how incredible Joe Kittinger's jump was in the 60's

Did anybody watch 'Space Dive' on BBC2 last night?

It recaptured the whole event and in greater detail than before.

I was enthralled all over again. I still can't get over the sheer spectacle of the thing. A huge sense of tension from start to finish. Marvelous and stunning!

I watched it with great interest and was rather disappointed by our 'hero'. I thought he came across as a bit closed minded and have since read some reports about his views on space exploration and the future of mankind, which came as a big surprise to me.

What he did was historic and I applaud him for it, but as a pioneering human being he has a lot to learn from the likes of the Neil Armstrong's of this world IMHO.

(he does have a very cool car though . . . )
