chelsea

Yes they sound very good and work really well in my room.
Was a bit concerned the room was going to be to small but they are fine.
Very happy with them.

Nice looking system Stu , loving the Voyd ,of course ! That's a Trichord Diablo/NCPSU as well ,what's that valve amp ? I thought you had a 500 series or am I not keeping up with current events ?

chelsea
07-10-2012, 22:29
Yes it's a diablo/ncpsu and the amp is tube tech unisis on loan.
Will probable get a AI 300 as i have a 301 coming soon so could do with putting the deck where the amp is.

You seem to have two, huge green flowers sprouting out of the top of a pair of Tannoys, Stu. Is this what happens when they are watered? :D

Proper nice Stu,

Your rack (the one the Voyd and Unissis is sited on), is it custom made, it'd be great for something similar for my two Garrards. :)

How comes the x-overs are so huge?

chelsea
08-10-2012, 20:16
Not sure why the size but they are granite base and mdf with cherry veneer and good quality componants..

Glad they are so big as my amp will be sitting on one of them soon.

Very nicely done as is the grf cabs.
They were at scalford 2 years ago.

Fair play. I bet it all sounds wicked either way.

Did you choose the horns for their dynamic sound? I've never heard a pair before.

chelsea
08-10-2012, 20:33
I've heard a few pairs over the last few years,
I love the presance and dynamics.
I had a good couple of listen to these on a cople of ocassions and loved the way they play all music so well.

I did have some back loaded horns a few years ago that were stunning on blues, jazz and acoustic but fell apart with indie and anything slightly rocky.

Try and get to a listen to a pair one day.

And new deck, but now have to get a cheapish 9" arm.
Maybe something like the rega 200 withh detachable headshell.

Hi Stu

That's a beauty. We haven't learned much about record decks in the last 50years have we?

I love the look of your system and I am sure it also sounds awesome There is no doubt that big horns do it differently. It's much more intense experience. I think that it's the way they are able to couple to and drive the air in the room.

The green horns look a bit Avantgarde. What are they?

David :)

Hey, wow - I've not been keeping up!

Let's have a reminder ---

http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd493/pilpil2/horns002.jpg?t=1349374036

I kind of picked up some hints that you'd bought these. Well done, Stu, I heard these at Jack's place and was very impressed.
Great immediacy - Jack played a Louis Armstrong LP - and I'll be b*ggered if Ol' Satchmo wasn't standing at the end of the room, singing away. Oh, and the trumpet -- :wowzer:

Congrats, I bet these will be staying a while. :)

H i jerry,

yes i love them after hearing them at jacks a couple of times.
They will either stay as they are or i'll see if they can be improved tweaked at a later date,by someone who knows what they are doing.

Looks nice Stu. How does it sound compared to the 301 ?

chelsea

Only had a quick play with it mike.
Needs a new belt as speed is slightly out.
With a cheap shure m75 it sounds very promising.
Will have to get a better cart on it and see how it goes.
