Well, thanks to Barry I finally have a MC coil cartridge - a Linn Asak! Barry really helped me out here - top bloke!!!
Packaging was superb, postage fast, cartridge in as new condition and, now I have it properly set up, it sounds fantastic.
Barry's Asak hung around unsold on Private Exhibitions for quite a bit. Pardon me for gloating but you all missed an absolute corker there - a Supex cartridge rebadged as a Linn.
What more could you want?
Steve
Thanks Steve.
Good to know you are now enjoying the cartridge, after having experienced some initial problems with installation. There is very little clearance between the stylus and the record surface, so I would recommend you clean the stylus with the stylus brush after playing every record.
Happy listening!

Hi All
Just like to send a belated thank you to some forum members with whom I have had the pleasure of dealing with.
Firstly, Mark Grant. Great products at a great price. Always helpful and is genuinely interested in helping you with any questions you may have. Secondly, David at Mains Cables R US, for exactly the same reasons. Between these two, I will have my new purchases sorted for as long as I can imagine.
My third thank you is to Brian (Brian2957). His MS Audio/Klotz MC5000 interconnects he offered forum members was a bit special. I have purchased other items from him and will continue to do so. His communication has always been very prompt and professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.

Big thanks to Andy for the Janis Joplin LP he sold me. In mint condition, on heavy vinyl with a nice gatefold sleeve, it now replaces my very heavily played, forty year old, original.

Just recieved a set of Brian2597's fabulous KLOTZ interconnects and had to put pen to paper to thank him for introducing me to a level of performance that i would expect to cost hundreds but in reality was about a weeks beer money.:)
All i can say is if you are thinking of a cable upgrade you owe it to yourself to give Brians cables a go, i've speant an awful lot on bits of wire in the past:mental:and IMO price definately does not guarantee performance, i had best sign off before i light the blue touch paper on another cable debate ;)
Keep up the good work Brian
Just bought a very nice Kondo clone preamp from SteveW, talk about going the extra mile! Steve dropped the amp off from Birmingham - I am in Farnham, Surrey. Steve is also a nice guy to talk to, a very pleasant afternoon.
A big, big thank you to AlanS for the speaker cables. He provided me with a 4m pair of Tellirium Q Black's for a ridiculously generous price... cheers Alan, you're a star !

Hi everyone
I have been buying records for some time over internet and so far I have been lucky. Dealers from Germany, France, USA, UK…no problem at all.
But last order from Scott Nangle went all wrong. Today is exactly 2 month since money for the records was taken from my account.
We have exchanged 23 e-mails. Many promises were made that the shipment will be made. I was asked again and again for confirmation of my address (I have sent my address to him 4 times). In meantime I was told that there was problem with delivery. That address was not correct.
And after few e-mails today I have received request to pay for reshipping.:steam:
Now I really don’t know what to do. I have read some bad stories on other forums (after all problems I have I started to search on the google. I wish I have done it before). It looks that I am not the only one with that kind of problems. What were your experiences with Scott Nangle? Shall I say goodbye to money?
Almost identical cases on other forums:

Hi Ales,
I’m very sorry to hear about your experience. Please leave this with me, and I’ll sort it out.

Ales we spoke today on the phone - i was shipping a replacement order out today
sent your order by airmail & post office returned the parcel several weeks ago your address was incomplete
i will issue a full refund today even though this is not my fault as your address was incomplete
Just back from Paul Stewarts to collect a nice pair of Spendor BC1s. Great to meet you and Viv and your great collection of LPs - just as well as I forgot to bring any of my own. I did put that copy of May Blitz back didn't I
It was great chatting with you and hearing a few tales from Fleet St. It was shame that I couldn't stay a bit longer - as I was leaving your Tannoys were playing sweet music. They are an amazing sight for the uninitiated and made the Spendors look tiny :)
They really look the biz in my room so, now to hook them up and give them a good work out. Thanks again.

Thank you Marco and thank you Scott too.
I have received money on my account today. But I will be happier with the records. I don’t know what went wrong. I wish that everything went another way. Scott has so many good vinyl records I wish to buy. But I am afraid of more cases like this one that just happened.
No problem, Ales. Always glad to help in situations such as this :)
Scott’s a good bloke and a genuine guy, no doubt about that, but IMHO, (and I think it needs saying), the methods he uses to operate his business need a little ‘fine tuning’, especially with how orders are taken from customers and then processed afterwards, to the point of delivery, where I feel the existing ‘infrastructure’ (as it were), along with stocktaking, needs some streamlining.
First of all, I’d suggest he needs to accept Paypal, as a method of payment, as that would cut out a lot of the current issues. Also, items marked as being ‘in stock’, must actually be held physically at Scott’s premises before shown to customers as such on his website. I shall be having a chat to him about all of this.
Marco.

Bought Partington stands and granite plinths from Jason who bent over backwards to help me arrange a courier and who packs stuff up that is totally bombproof:eek: not even the worst courier in the UK could damage stuff with that sort of packaging:cool:
The stands and plinths and other items are absolutely mint and a credit to Jason who clearly looks after his stuff.
Thanks Jason.
Kind regards

Thank you Tony, you too made it easy too mate:) Tony sent his own courier and made payment straight away.

I collected this amp today that Vinylspinner (Nigel) had for sale a few weeks ago. I had intended to travel to Wiltshire last week to collect it, but the day before slipped over and seriously damaged an already seriously damaged knee:eek:
Nigel said that he could have the amp delivered to Camberley which is a lot lot nearer to me all at no extra cost.
Having collected the amp and fired it up, I am delighted with my purchase. I have put my two'pennorth about it in the original sale thread.
So a big thanks to Nigel for a stress free transaction and arranging to get the amp much nearer to me:)

Yes, that's in, too.

What about scoundrels of the selling variety? Should naming shaming and a warning to others occur?
I don't recall anybody being denounced as a rogue seller.
I'm not sure having negative comment would be good. It could leave the forum open to possible liability. There'd be no way of ensuring condemnation of sellers was true or accurate.

For allowing the broadcasting of untruths or defamatory comment about any person.
My view would be for the buyer to tell it as he or she has experienced it, and then allow the seller to defend himself or herself accordingly.
As long as no libellous comments are made (or nasty slagging off of anyone), and the facts are stuck to, then there should be no issues. This section of the forum isn’t simply for patting folk on the back; it’s also there, if necessary, to allow criticism of someone’s products or services.
However, I would also add that protracted debates (endless arguments) on the matter, regarding ‘who’s at fault’, will not be allowed. If that happens, it will be stopped, and the parties involved told to take their dispute to PM.
Marco.
I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Andre for the immaculate records I’ve bought from him, which arrived packed far better than any professional company would’ve done. Top marks, dude - many thanks!

I wasnt btw casting aspersions on the people in the forum,as most people are just enjoying their hobby. Nor do I hold AOS responsible for private sales. Emails were between myself and the seller. Basic synopsis when I first got the phono stage there was a noticable hum which I put down to my newly rebuilt and modded Thorens or the SME arm,a few days in and I had to replace valves. I wasnt bothered by that at the time as I put it down to possible treuma during transit as they are delicate and it temporarily sorted a problem ie inbalance between channels and the hum was reduced. A week further down the line the unit was dead and had to be sent for repair. All I actually wanted was a contribution that was equivalant of 20% of replacing valves and having the unit repaired. If I had sold something that broke within a fortnight I would have offered a full refund or half the cost of repair. Maybe best not to judge others by your own standards. And judging from all the positive feedback being left I can see that buying is usually a pleasant experience on here.

Just a wee note to say how much of a gentleman Pete (orbscure) is. I bought a HiFace Two from him and all went smoothly until the parcel arrived. It was sent by Collect+ and someone along the journey the parcel made helped themselves to the HiFace Two.
Pete was a joy to deal with from the first Pm telling him what happened, we spoke on the phone and he started a claim with Collect+. Since the incident he has kept me posted with regular updates. Sadly a week on Collect+ have not come back to Pete re a decision, but he has tonight refunded the amount I paid. One really can't ask more.
Pete is a gentleman and anyone can buy from him with confidence and I hope Collect+ compensate him, sooner rather than later.

Apologies I've been a tad slow to recognise smooth transactions and recommend fellow members ( in the unlikely event they need it from me !)
In no particular order
Rich B for a rather wunderbau Rega Brio R amp --- great price, condition, packaging etc etc --- tks
and same to
Grant ( Struth) for Q 2010 speakers
and
Andy (REXTON) for interconnects
also been good to chat with Tom (montesquieu) on all things buffer (!) .... Pete (orbscure) on Densen pre's and Nick ( Ned664) on the merits of Audio Analogue
sorry if I have missed anyone
my box swapping looks set to continue

Belated thanks for the kind words Neil... although Collect+ have finally decided to pay compensation today, it seemed the right thing to do... I'm annoyed that your not reaping the benefit of the HiFace 2, but at least neither of us ended up out of pocket :)

Many thanks Roy (RoyS) for the Gram Amp 2SE.
Roy sent it extremely rapidly and superbly packed. Oh, and it is a very fine phono amp too - just the step up in quality I needed.

Many thanks to Steve/swindy for his prompt payment against my Target AV rack... the 20kg worth of shelves are off to him today :)
Thanks Jerry (jandl100) for the Crown amp. Very well packaged & promptly delivered & sounding really quite good :)
Thanks to Paul(Reffc) for breathing on the crossovers of those Klh 317s I got for pennies off Ebay, fantastic workmanship, excellent communications (most of which to me was techno-babble) but I've learnt a lot from my dealings with Paul and now it's a complete no-brainer to get Paul to mod whatever speakers I happen to get from now on.
Great price too
Once again thank you Paul, I am really very pleased with the results of your time and expertise

Just like to thank Jorge a new member who bought the Quad 606 recently. UPS did deliver eventually but it was touch and go:)
Glad its gone to a good home where I believe Jorge is going to upgrade and service it .
A big thanks to Franz for the promptly delivered Audioquest speaker cables. they are lovely ..alas my brother snaffled them...big bully
I might add I installed them for him and they sounded very good indeed with the Q,s lovely tight bass from his shitty amp:eyebrows:
Would like to very much thank Glenn (vandergraafuk) for the wonderful Focal speakers I bought from him yesterday, they are settling into the system nicely and are simply amazing...
Glenn and his wife were extremely hospitable considering we were there quite a long time due demoing and then packing up the speakers, and my personal inability to lift weight at the moment. I very much look forward to keeping in touch, great deal and lovely people.
Paul.
