It'd be nice if you actually spelt the song title correctly.

I like that one, especially the Woodstock version.
Here's another I like. I saw this show and it was great... Pet Shop Boys do Coldplay's Viva La Vida.

Vanilla Fudge had some killer covers. I'm not sure I'd say they were better than the originals, per se; but, different... and kickin': "You Keep Me Hanging On" for one.

Alarm Will Sound's version of Aphex Twin's Cock/Ver10 originally on his Drukqs album. Seriously way better than the original.

There's also a great vignette by Sonic Youth of Ticket To Ride on the Master-Dik EP from which this track is taken.

Voodoo Chile - Stevie Ray Vaughan. I prefer his version mainly because it's equally as good as the Hendrix version, rather than better. How many people could do that! :eyebrows:
What about Stevie Ray's cover of Hey Joe?
I've always thought that Santana's Black Magic Woman is better than Fleetwood Mac's.
Jeff Buckley's cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIF4_Sm-rgQ
Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o22eIJDtKho

Agreed.

Very good , I enjoyed that :)
The stranglers - walk on by.
Jeff Buckley's cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".
Yes, but - Leonard Cohen's own version is absolutely superb, too!

That song blows my mind! So much of Johnny Cash himself in that.

Mr. Bogangles - The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Beverley Craven's version of Abba's The Winner Takes It All. Superb!
Otis Redding's cover of the Stones Satisfaction. An amazing version which if it doesn't get your toes tapping then you are either deaf or dead:cool:
Hendrix's version of Dylan's All along the watchtower!
Whitesnake'sversion of Aint no love(in the heart of the city) Dont know who wrote it though!

I think the writer was Bobby "Blue" Bland, and IIRC his version was pretty damned good too.

Any Dylan material covered by The Byrds.
The Beatles cover of Buddy Holly's "Reminscing".
Primitive live recording at the Star Club Hamburg, but a great performance.

The Beatles cover of The Marvelettes "Please Mr Postman".
The Love Affair's cover of Robert Knight's "Everlasting Love".
The Love Affair/Rod Stewart's cover of Mike d'Arbo's "Handbags And Gladrags".

Any Dylan material covered by The Byrds.
Agreed. 'My Back Pages' is one of The Byrds' best early tracks, and 'You Ain't Goin' Nowhere' a highlight of their 'country' period. everyone knows about 'Tambourine Man' which is way more tuneful than the original!

Whenever I saw the cd in a different edition, I'd buy it. I have it in a min-lp boxset, gatelold edition and 2-disc special edition. The cds however lack the warm of the lp, which really adds to the particular tracks.
