Mark sent mine as soon as he took delivery, which I received next day :)
Thanks to his consideration of my requirements over a couple of relaxed phone calls and consequent advice I am thoroughly chuffed with my acquisition. It's a real class act to say the least.

I've only had a few days to set it up and get it integrated in my system. There's a daunting array of possibilities but it has been a real pleasure to set up, partly due to the player's intuitive design and partly the excellent manual and automated functions.

Picture quality is breathtaking. I've taken Netflicks for movie streaming, which are disc quality. Lovefilm through PS3 was almost unwatchable. I've dealt with colour all my professional life and following calibration the images from discs are so subtley impressive and correct.

OK, so it's a state of the art Blu-ray player, blah, blah, blah...

But regarding it's artfulness with sound: It's just kicked my Squeezebox Touch with MCRU power supply and EDO output into a bespoke valve dac, MG power and interconnects - well, into touch! :punch:

I use a self powered hard drive into usb input. The player interface is not pretty but quite functional and control via iphone is to follow soon anyway. I've almost completed re-ripping my CD collection from flac to wav and included album cover art, but I needn't have bothered as the OPPO pulls it from the net. :doh:
I compared the internal dac with my own, taken out through optical cable and SpDif, making an easy switchable comparison; it took two songs to confirm the superior detail resolution that made instruments just sound more real. CD replay is equally as good, I haven't tried SACD yet but I can't imagine the improvement.

Disc load time is an advertised plus and blu-rays certainly load about 50 times faster than the PS3 did. Much of the Touch's weakness is put on the small processing power and doing a reboot and library scan would take about 5-8 minutes to complete. When I plugged my HD into the OPPO they were both already plugged in. By the time I picked up the remote and selected the Media Player from the home menu - it had already scanned the library and was ready for track selection!

Although the BDP105EU will be the audiophile player, this model certainly does impress and doesn't leave me wanting without having direct comparison.
