Lisa Dalbello's has only made three albums as Dalbello. Her earlier work is more light weight, new wave pop. Her first album was with Mick Ronson and is called WHOMAN FOUR SAYS, her second album SHE, and its follow up WHORE see her move into a more agressive and angry music, which is a blend of styles. Her best album in my opinion is her second SHE. This is an electro, power pop aor masterpiece. Very 80's in feel but fantastic and well recorded.

Sadly Lisa doesn't make many albums but when she does IMHO they are well worth getting. She has worked with Alex Lifeson Of RUSH and Ann and Nancy Wilson Of HEART and many others. In some ways she is a wee bit like( but pre dates) Allanis Morisette, but in my opinion better.

Davros, I'll check out the 'She' album but I don't like my music too angsty. I did like Alannis Morissette though.

Hi Haselsh1

Just have a listen to the you tube links and see if you like her. Yes she is a bit on the angry side but it makes for interesting music, IMHO.

Her third album Whore is quite good too, but for me its number two ( SHE )that gets my vote. I will put some links up for WHORE here, and you can decide if you agree or not.

Blimey, I remember seeing her on 'Max Headroom' in the 80s and thinking 'What an interesting and attractive young lady' - though in my head it came out as a Sid James like 'Phwoarr!'

Seriously though, I think the track was 'Close to you' - excellent vid and a great tune. Bit of a 'Tori Amos' for the 80s I guess...

HI Jason

Gonna Get Close to you is taken from her first album as Dalbello WHOMAN FOUR SAYS, which she did with Mick Ronson David Bowies guitarist. The link for this video is below plus a live performance of said track. Bits of this performance remind me of Grace Jones...

This is what she was doing before she dropped her first name and called herself just Dalbello, okay but not as good IMHO.
