I need a case - I have built my friend a DAC from parts either given to me or cannibalised from other kit and I am quite pleased with the results so far.

My problem is that I now need a case to put it all in. This is NOT simple. I can't seem to make any sense of the Maplin site and the one I found on ebay HERE (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200723853989?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649) is perfect except it costs more for that case than the whole thing together:stalks:

Anyone have any ideas? All suggestions gratefully received.

Not being funny but £30 for such a nice looking bit of gear should be considered an investment, surely?

Tell you what, you buy it and i'll send you the £30 for it AND a fiver for your trouble, how's that?

I do apologise for having an opinion and sharing it.

30 quid won't get much by way of a case these days but out of touch on UK prices..... maybe ask around for a redundant usb hard drive case if it is deep enough?
That case looks the same as the AK4393 pre-built DAC uses, which I think comes about 70 quid built (could be wrong on the price there too) and has the bit rates stencil on the front....

You are spot on here. It isn't a £30 case, I would buy a £30 case. It is a £50 case AND I can get the complete finished article for that. So - now - anyone know where I can get a decent case for my project?

I saw the delivery price in the link.

If that was the issue, why be so cryptic about about it?

That is absolutely spot on that - even the right size -
My thanks.
