Here's another "not my sort of music", but so well crafted
Give it a go if it isn't your sort of music
Funky soul, even disco like (!) aargh

Was (Not Was) currently listening to Hello, Dad...I'm in jail - CD
but I think anything will sound superb as they are all made *so* well
Must try the 12" single I have -Tell me that I'm dreaming. Assume that will sound superb with the mods that have happened since last play

I'll also confess to being a Was(not Was) fan. 'What up, Dog?' is my favourite. Like you say well crafted but also with a little Zappa-esque humour in there too.

Really great band with super tight musicians and songwriters who don't mind breaking the rules from time to time.

Also worth a listen is the spin off band "The Boneshakers" lead by the guitarist, Randy Jacobs.

Oh yes the humour. Should have mentioned that
Papa was a Rolling Stone on Hello, Dad... updated Rap style (not my type of music again !) better than the original - that's saying summat

This is their stand out track for me. Sound on loud. No need to watch the stationary record label
