Hi John,
Here's a warm welcome to you from me too. Dark Star, eh? A great track & one of the best films I know - excellent!
What do you have in mind for upgrades?
Cheers
Hi John and welcome to AoS. I was about to say the same as Chris, great moniker, great film. Let us know your upgrade plans - plenty of Linn/Naim users in here.

Ugrades? Hmmm...
I've had the same system for fifteen or more years with very little change, a very basic LP12 with no circuses, lingos, valhallas or anything, picked up with an Ittok second hand from the then Sound With Style in Sheffield for I think £600, a second hand Naim 42.5/160 combo from Moorgate Acoustics for a similar sum, and a pair of Castle Severns bought new from SWS for £500.
That was that until about three years ago when the Severns' plastic bass driver started to crack and double basses started to fart as a result. On a whim I popped into Moorgate where they had a pair of second hand Linn speakers, and a pair of B&W 604S3s. At this stage I hadn't paid any attention to hifi for years, wife and kids had come along and other considerations took over.
Anyway, earlier this year I decided that the B&Ws were just too huge and overwhelming, so I demoed a pair of ATC SCM7s which I loved with cd, but lps sounded awful, despite just having had the deck recently serviced. This, in a very roundabout way, led me to get some NACA5 which was a revelation, a new cartridge (AT440), and it was the old cartridge that made the 7s sound so poor, I'm quite sure, had the pre-amp serviced, bought a pair of EB Acoustics EB1s, and have auditioned a myriad of speakers new, ex-dem, and second hand over the last six months: Spendor, ATC, Neat, PMC, Wilson Benesch, and I'm waiting for a pair of EB2s to be delivered, with a view to a final contest between them and ATCs (with PMC TB2s as a possible substitute).
So that's me so far. Next, a pause to sort out and enjoy the new speakers, then possibly a NAC72, then possibly a HiCap. Then a stop. A stop because I'm then on the hunt for a new guitar (even more expensive, ha!).
Hi John, welcome aboard mate. Do you have an alien pet which looks like a beachball perchance? :D

'fraid not, once I get my avatar up and sorted you'll see that the moniker is entirely Grateful Dead inspired. It was a good film though...
Hi John, and welcome to AoS from me too - hope you enjoy the forum. :)
