Roy that's about as cheap as my Asda cheapy... It's yummy though... I now decant every bottle and it makes it a bit more special somehow ;)
Tonight I have mainly been to a beer festival.
Standing in a windy cold tent drinking strange brews , watching the rain falling and deciding if the beer wasn't too cold as well !!
Willy Wallaby ?? Newtons? Cha Cha Cha from Yorkshire Williamsons?? and at 7.5 % from Salopian Breweries , a special - Polygraph  like Guiness gone wrong .

Two bottles of wine for a fiver at the local Indian Mini-mart. Originally thought it would be dire and I don't generally drink it, the wife does, but I have tasted it and it's not too bad. Pinot Grigio, Merlot and others.

"Black cherries"? Is that a euphemism for nipples belonging to the more coloured of ladies? :eyebrows:
If so, you could do worse than suck on some Amaretto! ;)
[Cointreau is also recommended].
Marco.
A couple of glasses on New Zealand riesling, a proper man's drink.
Just in, time for a couple of nightcaps I think :cool:

At the risk of lowering the tone , do any AOS members brew their own beer? :)
My sons a bit of a dab hand at it (bit like his Da , who was an expert in the rice and raisin wine , like Sake ) and currently there are 40 x 2 litre bottles of a Porter and a Barley wine ready for Christmas this yr .

Hehehe... That would be interesting, after which I would propose that you introduce some Biscotti into the party, to 'dip into' whatever you feel would act as an appropriate digestif, and an able alternative to Vin Santo....

A glass of Pinot Grigot lunchtime. A couple of glasses of a 2004 Chateau Villars, Fronsac with dinner, followed by a 'couple of fingers' of Laphroaig as a nightcap. :)
You artistic folk have long fingers though ;)
Did you sniff your fingers after 'dipping them in', Barry? That reminds me, I need to prepare the anchovy toasts for tomorrow's antipasto! :eyebrows:

Frinton On Sea ?? in which case I walked past this place earlier this year...
Many years ago when I lived in Harwich there used to be a Chinese in Frinton by the Crossing Gates called Fung's Garden, that we used to go to for an occasion.. the only Chinese in Harwich was the Pitts... :D I could tell a few tales about that place...

Working my way through a bottle of 2010 Château Les Marcottes, Bordeaux after tonight’s dinner consisting of a Salad Niçoise as hors d’ouvres, l’entrée of Boeuf Bourguignon with long-grain rice, broccoli, courgettes, leeks and fine beans, followed by some Pont L’Eveque cheese on a crusty baton.

Done it quite a few times when I was younger, but was never really into it: it's just not part of my Italian culture.
Even as a youngster, I'd far rather have gone out for a nice meal with my girlfriend (or even my parents), and enjoyed a good bottle of wine, than go 'pubbing' with my mates, get pished and act like a zoomer! :eyebrows:

Possibly. Banking and shopping to sort. Dog walking. Wife laid up and too unmotivated to do much for herself and grand kids on half term and wanting feeding and occupying whilst their mother works. Spent two hours making cakes earlier to keep the little buggers entertained. They were supposed to do it (supervised) but kept cocking it all up, so I got lumbered :).
A friend called in the other day who has recently moved back from Australia. He's setting up a home with his young family and money is tight so when he saw my hifi he started talking about how he missed not having a system. The least I could do was remedy that and he left mine with a little usb dac, a Denon integrated amp and a pair of Celestion Ditton 15s.
Today I came home to find a brace of Einstock Icelandic beer on my doorstep which he left as a thanks. It's a lovely drop I have to say and I've enjoyed a couple of bottles and watching Jools Holland.
Thought that might be the case Geoff... try and find some rest time with a few tunes or a good film during the day too.. breaking up you spells of activity helps a lot. Ive been good for a while since my last overdo spell... legs still numb but I'm getting used to it and a lot of the pain is gone.

There will be today.
Blasted daughter rolled in at 1.00 am and commandeered the bathroom for half an hour after waking everybody up with her noise. Of course those woken all wanted the bathroom, so there was a fuss over that. Then the dog decided to start trotting around the house, barking and howling at every slight sound and he had to be grabbed and hauled into the bedroom. Bit awkward hauling 75 pounds of resistant dog up the stairs, barefoot in yer pants. Anyway, my night was not relaxed, so everybody here can bugger off and leave me be now!
Off to visit my cousin in Scotland at the weekend so thought I'd better get in training

Someone bought me a bottle of brandy last Xmas which I keep for emergencies. There is still most of it left as it flattens me. I thought I'd have a small tot of it the other night. Went out like a light. Woke up next morning half hanging out of the bed, with a puddle of drool on the floor under my mouth. Got a right crick in the neck, still hasn't gone away fully.

Try this.. imageshack was down yestereday
Now we're cookin.... :)
It always works with either Imageshack or Photobucket forum codes. Dunno why folks try to complicate matters by using some obscure form of Image hosting instead, which often results in a 'no view'.....
Marco.

I'm having some smooth J Smiths while reading the Guinness book of records;) actually Red Dwarf but its all much the same:lol: , then off to bed I think, but we'll see.

I always use TinyPic. It's free and needs no account. It works well, as long as you can cope with the adverts plastered everywhere! :)
Anyway. I'm having a lager or two. Cheers! :)

always meant to try them out bet not got round to it yet. Ive had a premium account with Imageshack for quite a while now, and although its not free it is usually very quick and reliable. TBH I am needing to go through it and delete stuff I no longer need in its memory. Ive so many pics in there it can be soul destroying if you forgot where you uploaded it too:D
First drink in a week last evensong, we had some banging eighties tunes on my brother- in-laws new midi system, that sounded better the more drink we took:scratch:
All in all a tidy and rewarding session.

Glad to hear it!
That one will need decanting, bringing up to room temperature and serving in some nice big wine goblets! Then savour it slowly, as it deserves, with a nice rib of beef or some stilton :)
Marco.
They were superb Bev. My bro had 2 pigs this year again, and kept 1/2 of one for himself. Butcher got a bit misled and made it all into bacon and sausages lol.. My gain. I will get some more off him hopefully. I froze them in two's for sarnies. Cant beat real free range pork instead of the captive crap you buy ............

Not wrong there Grant. We used to get our meat from an organic farmer on the Isle of Lewis. A lot of money up front as you had to buy a whole or half pig, sheep or goat, but it ended up cheaper than buying from a supermarket in the end, and the meat was so much better. You could even choose what breed you wanted.
Sadly he sold up and retired..
My mouth is watering at the thought Marco, thanks again for the recommendation.. ;)
You're most welcome. If you guys enjoy the Amarone, and would like some similar reccos in future, let me know

Just about to open a rather fine bottle of claret, to enjoy with this evening's repast: grilled local Welsh lamb cutlets, marinated in garlic, white wine and lemon juice, and infused with fresh rosemary and thyme (from our garden), served pink, with dauphinoise potatoes, purple sprouting broccoli, baby carrots, red cabbage and white asparagus, with a little home-made mint sauce on the side.
Cheers, and Merry Christmas folks!
