Hi, just joined as am starting to get into "real" HiFi and am keen to learn more and take advice as I look to purchase vintage equipment.
My first purchase was only the other day being a Luxman PD-264 Turntable, it does look rather gorgeous! I'm going to need to replace the cartridge and am currently looking at phono stages so I can start to listen to it...
My next purchase needs to be some vintage bookshelf speakers, they have to be bookshelf due to the configuration of the room and the fact I've got a missus! Would love some thoughts on speakers to look into, was impressed by some Tannoy 609's the other day but would rather go more vintage...do have a pair of Celection DL8 Series 2 to try as well...
In terms of music I've recently been listening to Nick Drake, John Martyn, Bon Iver, Sigur Ros, Tim Hardin, Beth Gibbons, Yo Yo-Ma, Bach, Faure, Classical Requiems, Sinartra, The Whitest Boy Alive, Broken Bells, Jeff Buckley and Fink. Would love to hear some recommendations?
I'm also a member on Vinyl Engine, DiyAudio and the HiFiSubjectivist, I look forward to receiving lots of great advice and hopefully getting in contact with a few other Berkshire UK based audio lovers.
