No experience but it does look good value, and no reason not to expect it to be good. Here's a link for those interested (http://www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/TWIST+Speaker+Cable/part_number=112113/4358.0.4.3.43615.87967.0.0.0?pp=12&) to save your googlefingers.

Looks to be a reasonable price although it is very thin cable

This review suggests it is 0.75mm2 cable which is very small.

http://www.blackrhodium.co.uk/PDFs/reviews/TWIST-HFC.pdf

Most speaker cables would be at least 1.5mm2 to 2.5mm2 or more.

None of the websites selling it mention the size of the copper cable cores;)

It does get good reviews so worth trying for sure.

Erm, how come a 3m pair costs £71?
3 times £3.50 equals £10.50, times two: £21' surely bananas don't add £50?
And if it's £3.50 a metre, how come extra half metres cost £3.50 as well?

Using that maths, it sounds like they work better for anyone with a dealership and a cash register!

A lot like the "hidden" £5 per mono metre charged by Tellurium if you only need a 2m pair.:steam:

Chris - David MCRU charged me 3.50 a meter for them. The seller linked to may, or may not be taking the pi** with the 50 squid banana plugs but to be honest there are people on here use plugs considerably more expensive than 50 squids. As I say and at the risk of repetition David charged me £35 for the ten meters I got from him and there was no indication that banana plugs were a compulsory addition. Obviously I cannot speak of the other seller linked to him above but I would only buy from David anyway as I have received nothing less than sterling service from him.

Yep, agreed, he's a top bloke to deal with.

The key words there were 'using that maths' Graham, it's great that you dealt with someone who doesn't! I know you can pay a lot for plugs if you want to, but I can't see many dealers clanging £3.50/ metre cable together with plugs that are worth £50, though, can you?

'Priced' and 'worth' have rather different meanings though!!

Guys
Black Rhodium's terminations add £50 to the price, don't pay it if you dis-agree with the price, simples!

If you could be bothered to look you would see I charge much less and terminate them with quality connectors using silver solder, here they are. (http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/speaker-cables/506-black-rhodium-twist-speaker-cables-terminated.html)

Nice pic to accompany this post too. Hope that helps the originator of the thread, any the cable is actually pretty good too.

Well that sorted my query about the cost of the bananas, thanks Dave, but how come if the stuff is £3.50 a metre, half metres are also charged at £3.50?

Craig,
A 1/2 metre pair is 1 metre!

I know that Dave!:)

I somehow didn't appreciate it meant times 2 :)
I thought possibly if someone needed say a two m run on one side, and a two and a half the other, they were charged £3.50 even for the shorter length. :eyebrows:
