There's got to be over a quarter of a million quids worth of gear there, and how many amps does one person need? :stalks:

Well, I've not heard that system (obviously :)), but I have heard those Dynaudio speakers.......

They are rather splendid Mark, how do they sound?

The big silver single meter Mac amps 250watts each are 6LQ6 amps.
I'd like to be able to find enough fresh 50w beam tubes to restore a pair.
Those tubes dried up by the early 90's.

They may look splendid but, unfortunately, they didn't sound it :(.

Hey, wow!! :wowzer: - I love the cat!

... Mac gear and Dynys .... :hmm:
It wouldn't be my choice ... although I've not heard that lot, obviously.
I guess I'd fill the room with MBL gear, if it were me with a limitless source of funds

Would the room accoustics change depending on where the cat is? :)

One friend here in Finland has dedicated listening room build by professionals with Howland electronics and exactly similar Dynaudio speakers. He has also put some serious effort to equipment stands and cables etc. Very impressive have to say, even if not exactly my cup of tea :D

Those speaker drivers look pretty weedy, can they really do bass properly?

So much bling!

"would you mind just turning up the volume a little please?"

"whoops! I've fallen on the turntable and trashed it, sorry!"

I hope it has a remote..

Those vintage 3500s were designed by Mille Nestorovic but for studios and so different needs than for home hifi - surely his own brand NA1s must be better designed for sonics, particularly because he used them himself.

I'd love to try some FM acoustics gear like that phono stage but the rest I don't think is my cup of tea, image and looks wise anyway.

Have they employed a cablewalla just to jump around the back to change cables? Do you guys do that at your bake-offs?

Interesting looking system and one I would love to hear, but I would question the use of Mac gear with those speakers as well. However the proof of the pudding is in the eating and as I haven't tasted that particular pudding I won't know until I do.

I must say to date, and this is only at shows - I have not been that impressed with Mac kit and my only exposure at home to a MC2750 did not change my mind - very disappointing.

Here in the US, there's no shortage of places to see, touch and hear McI. stuff. :trust: Yet, IMO, their most appealing factors are the big blue meters and/or their visual presentation. Sonically, I have been much more impressed by an inordinate number of bespoke valve amps and SS amps, new and old. I'm not saying they sound horrid. That'd be lying. But, IMO, I've heard better. There's a badge of honor prestige thing that goes along with owning McI gear that I just never bought into. The sound of the gear has to impress me. I care about little else. Having said that, again, it's not at all horrid sounding gear and I do admire this gentleman's obvious dedication to audio. Each to his own. Now his collection of cartridges and turntables, I would jump at the chance to hear those just for the experience. Yes, indeed.

I fear that any time in excess of an hour may cause a brain tumour.
