Thought that some of you would enjoy this:

http://thespace.org/content/s000004u/albums/

You can actually examine each album title individually!! Just click on 'A', 'B', 'C', etc, select an album, and the info comes up! :respect:

Mr Peel was a big Sheena Easton fan by all accounts...

Hi Alex,

Yup, I remember that thread, but don't remember seeing any alphabetical listing of his record collection, stored on shelves, as shown on the link that I posted :)

Should this thread not be in the music room ?<d&rfc>

I think then it was only just starting (the original link no longer works direct to the Peel pages.) Looks like we're up to "Q" now? At least I couldn't get further than that. Whatever, it is very good, and an insightful look at a tiny fraction of what he amassed. :)

Possibly, but it'll get more exposure here :)

Del actually found it looking for record storage shelves (which I'm having fitted soon)!

I don't like the way some of those chipboard shelves are sagging!

Just "sour grapes" - I'm extremely jealous of Peely's collection (said to be over 10,000 titles!).

Totaly awesome. That must have taken a lot of time to catalogue.

Is it completed yet as I couldn't find certain albums, such as Love, for instance ?

It just covers the first 100 albums from each letter of the alphabet - JP's collection was 25,000 LPs, 40,000 singles and many thousands of CDs... Read a bit more about the project here (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/may/01/john-peel-record-collection-online).

Enjoy the site while you can - it is only temporary and lasts until the end of next month.
