The horizontal ball races are gravity loaded, so don't worry about a slight play in these bearings as once a cartridge and counterweight are fitted, the bearings won't chatter.

If not done before, fit some thick "grippy" sleeving on the lateral balance weight rod and all but jam the weight on the end as Rega did on the R200's fitted to the Planar 3 back in the day.
