This is a new cable from David, this one -

I expressed an interest, and David was kind enough to send me one to try.

I'm only at home at weekends, so it's taken a few weeks to form a solid opinion on this cable. I was using a Supra Trico with WBT's and also recently got an Oyaide with silver Eichmans from Mark, so these were what I was comparing it to.

Short review - This is a great cable.

Longer review -

I'm not really one for trying loads of cables, I find better improvements can be made elsewhere, but recent get togethers with some local lads have allowed some interesting comparisons to be made, so I've been trying some different digi cables. Having heard the same cable with different plugs recently, I've formed the opinion that it's probably the plugs that make the most difference, in digi cables at least. Both the Oyaide and the Ultimate have the same plugs, so it was interesting to compare the two. Both were an improvement on the Supra, particularly in the bass, which was a bit of a surprise as I'd thought the Supra better in that department than the previous cables I was using.

The difference was less marked between the U and O, as I expected, but there were some. I prefer the O to the Supra, gives better bass and a better sense of acoustic and the air and space around instruments and vocals. The U gave a bit more of the same over the O, as well as seeming to sound more "at ease" and I thought it allowed the music to flow better, and seemed to allow the music to hang together as a whole better than the other two.

One good thing with using the TFS and Nick's dac is that they are such a transparent combination that it's easy to hear differences between cables.

So there you have it, just my two pennerth worth. If you're looking for the icing on the cake for your digi sytem, the Ultimate is the best digi cable I've yet heard. Not cheap yes, but not silly money if you look around at other offerings out there.

Thanks to David for letting me try the cable.

Thanks for that Ali, much appreciated. As it's selling so well I have managed to get the price down a bit more since I sent yours so it's "only" £195.00 now which for a pure silver cable with silver connectors is quite a bargain IMO. Here it is (http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/digital-cables/508-the-ultimate-digital-cable.html) if anyone is interested.
