The problem is that you didn't read the email that you got......or if you did, you ignored it.

Pat - since you first joined, a new "rule" is in place that you need to post in the Welcome section first of all. We've always respectfully and politely asked this, but increasingly people have joined the forum and gone straight to the classifieds, for example.

AoS strives to be a community of hifi enthusiasts - not just a faceless bulletin board - hence why we like people to say hello and tell us a little bit about themselves, and give the rest of us the opportunity to welcome you to the forum.

So, welcome! You should be able to post in the vinyl section now, but please tell us just a little about your system and music tastes when you get the chance. :)

Hi Pat,

You would've received a confirmation email, after registering on the forum (which you did in 2011), in order to activate your account, in which there would've been a request for you to go to the Welcome area and introduce yourself to our community, prior to posting anywhere else. It is this email that Chris is referring to :)

What's happened is that since the new procedure has been put into place, all members who up until that point had zero posts (such as you until yesterday) were put into a category called 'New Registrations', which effectively ensures that their first post must be made in the Welcome area, as indeed you discovered for yourself, as they have no permissions to post anywhere else until a Welcome thread has been posted in the appropriate section.

I trust that this clears up any confusion and hope that you become a regular part of our community :cool:

Please tell us what your system is and what you enjoy listening to... we're quite a curious bunch and i like to think the forum is a bit unique in what we go for, all shapes and sizes and tastes can be found here.

Hi Guys thanks for the introductions

I have been an audiophile for 30 plus years and have an all tubed based system. The components are pretty rare except for my Paul Hynes Phono stage which ironically has been heard of here

I'm currently using a modified Lenco L75 and just picked up a vintage tuner which I plan to listen to when vinyl is not in rotation
