Platter magnet / new platter

Quick question for you guys who have changed platters, and for my future reference.
The magnet from the original platter is (very) easily removed by undoing 3 screws.
Now the part that is attached to the spindle with 8 'lobes' appears to be very solidly attached (glued?)
Do I need to get this off as well or do new platters come with a new one?
If I need to get it off - any hints - don't want to destroy the thing in the process..

That's fine as you've done. No need for anything else to taken off. Just attach the magnet to the new platter. The 'lobes' you describe will be affixed to the new platter.

Uncertain at this moment in time, maybe Funk, maybe MN acrylic?
