Hi :)

I'm a hifi addict with no hope of recovery after forty ears of abuse.

Why do I think the next fix will be better with the latest acquisition? You know the symptoms, furtively sitting in the dark late at night firing aural bliss straight into your aural cavities. Sweaty hands as you pull your favorite album from its cover and the rush followed by that satisfied smile as the first notes hit you. Your chest pumps (well it's probably the base line) ah heaven.

But then the down has too follow, did that last amp have a little more control? Was the Record better than the CD? Perhaps it's just my mains fluctuating bringing on my anxiety.

Only one the to do. FIND MY DEALER!!!

Hi there & welcome to AoS.
How about letting us know a little about your system and taste in music?

Hello Gwyn. Welcome, I'm recently joined too. I'm at the west end of the M4 from you. A kit list and music interests would be interesting.

Steve.

Hi Gwyn, I appreciate you probably only joined us to "do the deal" on the amp you've just bought - but I do hope you'll stick around a bit and enjoy the forum - as well as enjoying your new amp, of course! If nothing else, you'll be able to feed your habit some more in the Private Exhibitions threads! Welcome to AoS. :)

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I'm currently rebuilding my system after foolishly downgrading five years ago. I thought music wasn't that important to me any more DUH!

My old system consisted of -

Townsend Rock Turntable, Alphason 100s Tonearm, Denon 103 cartridge and Marantz 17Ki CD Player.

MC Transformers into Audio Research L2 Preamp to Leak Stereo 20 (fully tricked out with Audio Note PIO's)

Yamaha NS1000 Speakers.

Current System-

Goldring GL75 Turntable, Hadcock Tonearm, Grado Sonata cartridge and CD playback via Home-built Music Server into M2TechYoungs Dac with upgraded power supply.

Denon AVC A1D amp

JR149 Speakers fully rebuilt by myself together with Rel Quake Sub.

The turntable is my current project and will be fully rebuilt to Lenco Heaven standards. The arm rewired with Cardas and the cartridge is currently with 'The Expert Cartridge Company' for their best tip.

My musical taste is varied. Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk, Classical.
Current favorite album is 'Bonnie Raitt -Slipstream'

I'll post a few pics of the 149's in the DIY section shortly.

:D
