Hello!

Came across AoS just recently while searching for some new (second hand) kit and decided to join.

System - mmmm, well had a reasonable budget system a few years back (NAD, Cambridge Audio, Rega, JPW) then I went all minimalist, gave it to my father and moved to the darkside and got an all-in-one box.

I have now seen the error of my ways and am currently trawling the classifieds for a separates system made up of decent second hand kit that I couldn't afford when it was new.

Music - all sorts of random stuff, Toy Dolls, Pixies, SLF, Prince, Faithless, AC-DC, The Specials, Paulo Nutini etc etc etc

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to AoS :) Nice to see you are going to take the plunge with seperates again, one box solutions are too much of a compromise imho, unless you spend loads of money, then some can be quite good quality :eyebrows:

Get some posts behind you as you may well need to make PMs, & you'll find those aren't going to be functional until you get more involved ;)

Bests to you, good luck in the hunt & I hope you enjoy your stay

Welcome... there are a few of us around here that have divested ourselves of Hi-Fi setups and vinyl in the past. Only to find ourselves buying it all over again.

I include myself in that description. 15 years ago I had a lovely sounding Linn system and about 800 vinyl discs. All got rid of in the name of progress.

Now I have to stop myself going out and buying a turntable again

Hi Steve,
Welcome from me too.
You've got some fun ahead of you then! We'll help you make the choices if it's help you need - the vicarious spending of other people's lolly is one of the favourite activities on AoS!
What are you considering as a source - CD/vinyl/files?

Hi Steve, and Welcome to the forum, from another Bristolian, albeit via the Midlands originally :)

What kind of stuff do you have in mind for your new system?

Hi Steve and welcome to AoS. Searching for used equipment is fun, especially when you land an item not recognised for its value. Enjoy!

Hi Steve, and a big welcome from, me too. I "scratched a few itches" the last 3 years or so - so to speak! Items I'd dribbled on shop windows lusting after as a lad - some moved on, some still in use - but an awful lot of fun for not much money if you are careful. Enjoy!
