Hello from Slough...

Hello everyone - I've been reading AoS for some years now - but I'm not a habitual forum poster. I might be thinking of selling a couple of pieces though, and I don't want to get off to a bad start without dropping an introduction first....

So here I am - writing to you from (literally) sunny Slough. Undoubtedly one of the most delectable parts of our green and pleasant land.:whistle:

I've not got a system to rival many on here, but it sounds OK to me. I've also most certainly not got the most high-end room for it either! Gear at the moment is:
System 1: Harbeth S-HL5, Sugden A21SE, Sugden CD21SE, Notts Analogue Spacedeck/Spacearm, Croft Phono, Siltech cables mostly
System 2: Spendor SA1, DIY FirstWatt F5 (quite proud of this - it turned out well!!!), Musical Fidelity M1 DAC, Squeezebox Touch.

Not one of the oldest on here probably - CD was introduced to the world some years before me - so plenty to learn! Maybe now I've broken cover I might stick my head into the action in some other threads.

Sugdens are scarce here in Sweden but i like what i've heard at shows from time to time. I do have a small class A integrated that sounds absolutely marvellous though.

Yeah - I'm doing my best! I've been here for 5 years now and enough is enough.

Music wise a pretty wide range really - Classical (mostly romantic and 20th century), big fan of Prog (Supertramp - thats perfection right there), some Folk music, quite a few "modern" indie/alternative artists. I'm actually getting into Jazz in quite a big way - I always found it a bit inaccessible really, but thanks to the marvels of Spotify, I can listen to hundreds of albums, work out what I like and start appreciating it a bit more (without spending a fortune on a couple of Ornette Coleman, getting home and then having to stich my ears back on!).

Cartridge for the TT? Probably the weak link - currently what I think must be the original NA Tracer that was bought with the deck. I've really got my heart set on a Dynavector DV20H, but with escape-from-Slough plans, its having to take a back seat (as is the Metrum Octave I fancy, a VHD First Ultimate, a...)

Thinking about offering the CD21SE to fund some changes - but it's probably just change for change's sake.

Hi Jonathan, DIY Pass F5...whilst others around me were making their F5's I thought I would be different and make an F2, 5 watts of glorious Class A. Nice amp, but a hernia inducing lift for one.
