Ran into you guys doing a search on the Technics SL-P1200 and there was a recent thread on the go...
I started out collecting technics bits and have quite a few now plus some that have come and gone. Current connected system consists of:
(Starting at the top of the rack and moving down)

the list goes on and on :) it's kind of a disease...
Have about 10,000 albums covering 60's and 70's Rock, 80's alternative/dance, Jazz, Electronic, Classical
Another 1,000 CDs mostly rock, jazz and 80's alternative.
DVD-Audio about 30 of this awesome but defunct format.
Have about 2,000 pre-recorded cassettes, price was too good to pass up :)

Also have a Sony 7.1 home theater receiver - most expesive piece of equipment I ever owned. Couldn't stand the way it made stereo music, caused me to rebuild my record collection and get back into audio in a rather large way. My entire collection goes back 5 years and $$$$.
Started off with the Technics pro series because that was what I dreamt of back in the late 70's. Technics was funny, they made really decent stuff and then had this hi-end of really true audiophile quality equipment. Many of the really exotic pieces never made it to Canada but could be found in the US, GB or Germany. Some of my collection came across the pond from ebay.de or ebay.uk
So, that's a little about me. I'm professionally a nerd, IT Support for my own company. Drive an '06 Audi S4 and a '91 Volvo 740t Wagon. Both terribly thirsty even at our relatively cheap cost of gas. ($1.25CDN/litre)
