Cool system. Have you had the Ruarks long?

Yes, about seven years. I bought them from a guy down south. I love Ruark speaker and the Crusaders are a very musical speaker. I have borrowed numerous speakers over the years with the full intention of buying something a more sensitive and up to date. however, i keep gravitating back to the Crusaders. I do really enjoy them.

I'm also a fan of Ruarks. I would like to try those really big efforts they did about 15 years or more back. The Equinox, I think.

I don't think i've ever heard any Ruarks but i did have a couple pairs of Diesis, i especially liked the Diesis 'Solitaire'

The Diesis Solitaire takes me back. Loved 'em. Gave them to my sister when I bought Ruark Talismans.

Lovely system, welcome to AoS Steve :)

I couldn't help noticing you have a problem with Mini-Egyptians. Keep on top of it dude or before long you will have an infestation and those tiny pyramids will be popping up everywhere... :D

My mum has a dinky pair of Ruark Icon speakers, good for small speakers. I've never heard any larger Ruarks but imagine the sound very good. Good standard of finish too.

Agree with everyone else... a nice looking setup there - plus Ruark speakers a good choice.

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum from me as well :)

Love the Crusaders, always wanted a pair after listening to them for a few sessions a good few years back. You need to be single or childless or have a lock on your music room door though, I have seen quite a few midrange domes & tweeters looking decidedly worse for wear

Kids & fingers wondering what this does :donk:

Hello and welcome to the forum from just up the A19!

Lovely looking system, i used to run a pair of talismans many moons ago on long term loan from a mate, sadly i was skint when he wanted to flog them and i've often wished i'd been able to beg/borrow/steal the cash as i loved them.

i see you're a valve man, I'm all solid state but vive la difference!

Theres almost enough north east members for a bake off/gathering/piss up now.

Very nice kit, Steve. If I ever get my sorry arse back to the UK i'll have to pay you a visit :-)
For those that don't know, Steve organises what looks to be a really great prog rock festival....

I could probably host a half dozen members or so at my place on a saturday afternoon/evening with some 'light' refreshments, how does that sound? unless you had something bigger in mind. I'm in gateshead near Heworth.

We could take my all rega system as a reference point then ppl could bring their own bits and bobs as suits them. We can take it in turns where everyone gets a spot to play their music and show off their turntable/dac/cdp/valve amp/whatever. Emphasis would be more on the social, hearing some good tunes on some nice gear rather than an exercise in measurement or hifi top trumps!

I've started a separate thread here for folks to register their intrest: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20282

Btw... whats this prog rock festival you are involved with? If you get a chance come see my band, Prism (a floyd tribute)... when we're playing around the NE. I could post some vids and stuff but dont want to crap on this thread as I've got another one in 'Musical Compositions'
Cheers

I've noted your interest for the bake off mate, let's see how many takers we get and I'll pm folks. Might be end of Oct so hopefully plenty notice for people.

The prism don't have owt in the diary for now as we're working on a new set but should have some gigs sorted by the end of the year.
