Help with a vortexbox

bought a zen music server vortex 2Tb to rip Cds

step one web configuration http://zen. does not work
puts me on to a uk website provider or google cant display this page
help please ( in idiots language please ) i can just about text
switched it on , connected to dac , powered up All lights on

Put off digital for years as these are just far too complex
Step one in the manual failed god knows about the rest

managed to get my Pc & SBT working but god its a pain
50% of the tracks display nothing or total rubbish - have to click to see what the bloody song is

I know someone who has a Vortexbox from Zen, and he has nothing but nice things to say about it - the support is excellent by all accounts.

I suggest you contact the chap you got it from.

Welcome to a whole new world of sodding about with computers ;) . But stick with it - I've been using vortexbox (on an aleutia pc) for some years now and it's rock solid in a way that (in my experience) Windows never is.

It's the bloody router that continues to do my head in!

3months and i still have not ripped a cd yet Put disc in the cd drawer then press play = Music in seconds Nas/Pc/SBT . WTF
1/ why is computer music such a pain in the arse
2/ why 24/96 or any other downloads all crap music or over priced

What do you see when you look at your network connections?
I'm hoping that you see a device called Zen.

One thing I'm struggling to understand - why have you sat on the problem for 3 months?

why dont these things just auto install it has no screen so dont know what its doing
bought a 50quid 3d samsung bluray the other day from tesco
plugged it in , connected ethernet cable , select english
2minutes later playing a film watching youtube simples ! did not even read the manual
same with my toshiba laptop - plugged it in 15minutes later sending emails , never read the manual

If it's connected to your network and powered up then it should be broadcasting its name on the network, which means that you should be able to access the device remotely.

I can't help you beyond that, as I have little direct experience of the device itself.
The supplier of the equipment should be able to provide support.

I did ripped my cds on my laptop then into a 2Tb Nas i bought from tesco
all up and running now in under a hour the nice tech bloke from tesco ( alan ) gave me some tips only cost £80 for the Nas
Still nothing comes close to vinyl but ripped CDs are handy for playlists

still ripping my cds but will takes ages i,ve about 4,000 should be done by Xmas
then put them in storage just in case - Nas will fail at some point
